Handmade ring in 925 sterling silver with a hammered band and a beautiful freeform Australian tube opal, also called “pipe opal,” measuring approximately 9.5 x 4.5 mm.

What is a “Pipe Opal”? It is a type of Australian opal that has formed inside ancient hollow pipes underground over millions of years—often fossilized plant root remains. These pipes gradually filled with silica-rich water, which over time transformed into opal. Pipe opals are very special because they are not as abundant in Australia as white opal or boulder opal.
